Forever in my Temporal Lobe
I never thought the smell of cigarettes would be that sweet,
That enticing smoke from your lips, as we talk and sit.
Or was it the need to kiss the dreamer on your skin,
Like it was a day I’m high on cold caffeine.
A compulsion to trace your curls, with my shaking fingers
The world had paused, as your smell lingers.
It was a one second movie, as our cheeks meet.
It was that awkwardness i felt, that made it a perfect fit.
You are the chaos, that made it worth living,
You’re that rude knife worth holding.
Breathe as your wrist told me,
I was more fonder of you as the seconds ticks slowly.
And if today, my existence would wither and die,
I shall write “I like you” instead of goodbye.
For you gave a reason for this feckless heart to try,
To grow its wings again and fly.
